Black Static #48 is now off at the printers and will be mailing out to subscribers in a week or so. Andy will be along shortly to quote chapter and verse on the delights it contains, but in the meantime here I am to whet your appetite by revealing the full contents of the Case Notes book review section of this issue.

Here's what we've got for you:-

HELL AND BACK WITH SIMON KURT UNSWORTH

Reviews of the story collection Strange Gateways and the novel The Devil's Detective, plus a lengthy interview with the author.

H. P. LOVECRAFT SLEEPS WITH THE FISHES

Held back from a previous issue, reviews of three linked anthologies inspired by the work of HPL and edited by Stephen Jones, Shadows Over Innsmouth, Weird Shadows Over Innsmouth, and Weirder Shadows Over Innsmouth.

SARAH PINBOROUGH

Reviews of her two latest novels, Murder and The Death House.

SPECTRAL NOVELLAS

Reviews of The Hammer of Dr Valentine by John Llewellyn Probert, Albion Fay by Mark Morris, The Bureau of Them by Cate Gardner, and Leytonstone by Stephen Volk.

That's eleven titles reviewed this issue, three of them written by women, taking our totals for the year so far to seventy two titles reviewed and eighteen of them with a female byline (25%).

That compares with one hundred and seventy one books received for review so far this year, thirty eight of them with a female byline (22%).
