I think it's way past time we closed this forum down. It hasn't been used properly for years so if anything is counter productive. And it's just taking up server space which costs money.
Comments welcome.

I understand your thinking on this, Andy.
Many of the folk who post here are on Facebook, which I'm not keen on but we're stuck with social media now! This place has been invaluable to me, so personally I'd be sad to see it go, but financially and for the other reasons you mentioned, it's probably the way forward.

I try to pop on as often as I can but sometimes it seems I'm the only inhabitant! Posts do seem to get a large number of views, but whether that's real people or not I dunno. Will be a shame to see it go, but I get the logic.

It might be worth posting about this on FB, to see if there's any reaction there.

It's an understandable decision; I mostly lurk anyway. But I'll be a bit sad.
I guess the conversation is scattered online these days.

There is a pretty lively 'old style' forum at SFFChronicles and there is an Interzone section which anyone can use if they register. You can add new threads after a introductory period. You/we could migrate to there. I don't think Brian would mind but I can ask.

Are you thinking of deleting it or just closing it down, Andy? I am thinking about the huge well-visited Big Brother thread in particular.

Oh, no! I was looking forward to BB as an escape from Brexit coverage!

We can make a decision after Big Brother.
