Black Static

As Electronic Editions Editor for TTA Press, it is with great pleasure that I introduce to you, the reader, another way to enjoy Black Static. In addition to the print version, readers will now enjoy instant access worldwide to the new horror magazine from TTA Press, premiering at Fictionwise.

Black Static publishes groundbreaking dark fiction by some of the world’s best writers and most talented newcomers, plus hard-hitting features and innovative artwork, combined in a package that one reader recently called “Mean, moody and magnificent.”

Beginning with Fictionwise’s regular release of new titles on Monday, March 10, 2008 (Tuesday for those of you in Australia), readers will have the option of purchasing single issues or a one-year subscription. As we did with Interzone, Black Static eBooks will debut with three issues to encourage subscriptions.  The release date has been chosen to coincide with the expected arrival of the print edition of Black Static 3 overseas.  Future issues will appear alongside the arrival of the print edition.

Fictionwise offers a wide array of eBook formats, which now include formats for the Sony Reader and Amazon Kindle (with wireless download option).

Inside each e-Edition of Black Static you will find the complete text and artwork found in the print edition. In lieu of having the phenomenal appearance that our editor, Andy Cox, bestows on the print edition, the e-Edition will be formatted so that it can be easily read on virtually any electronic device.

If you haven’t purchased at least one copy of the print edition, I strongly encourage you to do so.  Andy has done an amazing job with the look and feel of Black Static, imbuing the stunning artwork of David Gentry throughout every issue.  Black Static achieves an eye-popping, wicked-looking style, which gives an eerie glimpse into the tortured souls of its writers and creators.

A one-year eMagazine subscription would make a great gift idea for your friends and enemies. New issues automatically appear in your personal Fictionwise bookshelf when they become available, and an email notification will be sent. You can begin with the issue of your choice. Subscriptions are convenient and save you money!

I hope you enjoy reading the e-Edition of Black Static as much as Andy, David Gentry, myself, and the good folks at Fictionwise have enjoyed bringing it to you. Don’t forget to try TTA Press’s Crimewave and Interzone magazines, available now at Fictionwise.

Cheers!
Pete Bullock
