We are always interested in improving the finances of TTA, and hence the magazines, so we would appreciate your comments on the idea of Interzone Christmas cards. Private Eye seem to do well out of a similar idea so maybe we can.
The idea would be to get our cover artists to provide a few SFnal designs of cards, say four, and then offer packs of 4 or 8 for sale in the magazine and via the website. Would any of you be interested?
I'm told my own idea for a card, see thread title, is "naff" but I'm sure our artists will come up with much better.

A selection of cards featuring old Interzone covers would be good for occasions other than Christmas. At least, I think so.

I have to answer "yes", Roy. Both to the concept and to the naffness of the spaceship/pudding thing.

Nice idea. I would be interested, especially if the inside is blank, allowing use for birthday, xmas etc.

I'd be more interested in blank cards - always get our Christmas cards from Cancer Research charity, rather than commercial sources.

I agree that cards without a message inside would probably sell better.

Well if it's just the inside content of the cards, it wouldn't be too difficult/expensive to do some blank and some with a Christmas greeting. In fact, if you were having anything at all printed in black on the inside, you might as well put a message on some of them - won't cost you anymore at all, since the cards will be inevitably printed up in batches of 8 or 16 or whatever to the sheet (unless, I suppose, you're using one of those bulk discount printers that batches up a load of different client's cards on one sheet).

Just throwing in my vote for blank cards. Of course, if you can do both inexpensively, by all means do--but I personally would rather buy blank cards than ones with Xmas greetings.

Thanks for the views and comments. Please keep them coming.
We aren't using anyone yet. Just wondering if we can risk any of TTA's sparse resources in attempt to improve same.
