As you know, we now send overseas copies on a 'Premium' service which means that copies pretty much everywhere should arrive in about a working week. I guess that IZ222 will leave these shores Thursday or Friday. As usual, please let us know when your copy arrives. Thanks.

Arrived in Ohio, U.S.A., in beautiful condition. As always, I love Tredowski's cover art.
BTW, over the last week I've been reading through my IZ backissues and while this may sound strange, I prefer the black and white interior pages. The combination of a dynamic color cover and sharp black and white art and text inside makes for a great experience. While I initially missed the color pages inside, I now prefer the B&W. Anyone else have a similar reaction?

I spent the Summer of 1982 working in Auckland. I loved it. The place was beautiful, laid back, and so friendly that I made several life-long friends there. I lived in Mount Eden, right near One-Tree Hill. Hope you enjoy the citry as well as Interzone.

Auckland is a lovely place though right now, winter is beginning to make its presence felt. Currently, "One Tree Hill" is "(N)one Tree Hill"

Hi---I worked there in the SOUTHERN Winter of 82. It was often 16 degrees celsius during the day, and perhaps zero at night. What fine weather! I lived in Amsterdam then, and this Summer weather was great. I hear though, that the Auckland Summer is hot and humid. I wouldn't have liked that.
I discovered some great SF while there, in the town's one used book store. That was in Mt. Eden, near the then-existent postoffice. In that place I found Wells' The Shape of Things To Come, J. Vinge's Outcasts of Heaven Belt, and Cherrhy's, Wave Without A shore. I also enjoyed concerts in the Church across the street from the great University Library. One downside was the lack of frequent public transportation, but that was not much of an obstacle. I loved the place and considered never returning to Europe. I looked around for any job at all but found nothing before I had to return. I'd love to return someday. With one exception the best Summer of my life, even though I worked very hard, teaching about 4 courses. Those were the good old days, right before the destruction of the Rainbow Warrier. I hope you like the city as much as I did. One of the most civilized places I was ever in, even given the discrimination against the Maoris. I hope THAT has lessened considerably.
