Rich Horton summarises his impression of Interzone for the year 2007 here (there is no separate year overview thread, and this is 2007's last issue).

On the Asimov's forum, I asked Gardner Dozois who were the new promising authors he noticed this year. his answer should be of interest to some here:
"Depending on who you count as "new," I saw good stuff this year from Chris Roberson, Ted Kosmatka, Vandana Singh, Neil Williamson, Justin Stanchfield, C.W. Johnson, Sarah K. Castle, Alistte de Boddard, Jayme Lynn Blaschke, Steven Francis Murphy, Marguerite Reed,Ekaterina Sedia,Andrew Kail, Beth Bernobich, and, if they still count as new,Paolo Bacigalupi, David Moles, Elizabeth Bear, and Benjamin Rosenbaum. Saw the first two stories of brand-new writer Una McCormack, which were quite promising."

Pleased to say that Ekaterina Sedia and Neil Williamson have both been in 'Nemonymous'.

And nice name-drop, AB. And incidentally, I also liked the "faux-noir" dectective. The word I would have used is "Marlow-esque", though.

I like "faux-noir"
But yeah, totally Marlow (even though I've only read one Chandler novel). I didn't include the womanising or the drinking, though...

Having just read Colin's fine review I feel I ought to say that the IZ213 editorial was written by the team, not just me. The words quoted were originally Jetse's I think.
But I'd like to keep the kudos for bravery if that's OK.

Hi Andy,
off topic, but this forum seems the best way to reach you:
On nov 16th, I ordered IZ 208/209 back issues (and according to the instructions on this site send my payment to "andy@ttapress.demon.co.uk")
On dec 13th, having received nothing (no magazine and no news) , I emailed "andy@ttapress.demon.co.uk" to ask for news about my order...
On dec 21srt, "andy@ttapress.demon.co.uk" is still incommunicado...

Hi Fabrice, I received your email and I replied (at length!).
(More briefly:) I promise you that your copies left here when and how I said they would, and on Priority setting, but unfortunately DHL – yet again – have failed to deliver. Your copies are in the post, and will be delivered, soon I hope. Just not as quickly as expected. Sorry about the delay.
As usual I have notified DHL of the delay, who listed a few feeble excuses such as Republic Day holiday in Malta, but gave no real response or reason for their constant failure. Their customer service is about on a par with their delivery service. I hope to have a replacement service in place for 2008.

IZ213 reviewed by SF Revu. The review concludes: "Once again, Interzone shows why it is the best magazine on the market."
