http://evie-bookish.blogspot.ca/2012/07/important-change-in-review-policy.htmlAn author doesn't like the fact that he was not reviewed after sending someone his book and flies to Mexico (not sure where he flew from) to see this non reveiwer and emphasize his ire. The blogger/reviewer in question turns out to be an 18 year old girl. Life's too short to read the whole page but she was probably wise not to give him a bad review if she did start his opus.

Oh dear! People seem to be increasingly losing the plot.

Sounds like a movie plot for a 'crazed author stalks the bloggers who trashed his/her novel' and uses serial killer scenes from its pages to do the business when he/she gets in striking range.

And he's been involved in that awful "Stop the Goodreads Bullies" site, too.

People just assume they're going to make it because they believe what TV etc tells them.

If we reviewed every book that gets sent to Interzone, there wouldn't be any room left for stories or artwork.

I do think a good proportion of it is due to attention seeking.

The GR Bullies thing is more about tagging than reviewing - authors who have had online meltdowns are getting mass-tagged with stuff like "will-never-read", "authors-behaving-badly", "foot-in-mouth-disease", "yeah-not-gonna-happen", "attacks-reviewers" and "abhorrent-author-behavior". Readers are getting militant and demanding to be left alone by authors. I understand the frustration of Goodreads users, given all the nonsense authors get up to on there, but it does feel rather like mob justice.

Very funny. No doubt some people won't read the small print and will try to take him up on the service

I was thinking of subcontracting some of the Black Static reviews, though I'd have to go for the cheapest package
