Great non-fiction, as per usual, in the new issue. Volk's column touched my heart; Chris Fowler's was fascinating; and Mike O'Driscoll's was just plain crazy - but in a great way!

Loved it.

Alas, I shan't be seeing my copy any time soon, I think, as there is a postal disruption in Canada at the moment. Sigh.

Received mine this morning - looks great -

particularly, upon turning its front cover, I immediately see the Heather Horsley designed front cover of 'Nemonymous Night' shining out. :)

Another strong issue in which I enjoyed all the stories. The Johnstone just edged out the Kaysen as my favourite, Carole does dialect based dialogue so well, and I felt it fitted well thematically with her story in the Dark Minds Anothology.

Peter Tennant's reviews were, as usual, a cut above what you find in more mainstream magazines and not for the first time Stephen Volk's section was probably the overall highlight of the magazine for me.

Cracking stuff!

Dark Minds Contributor Anthony Watson has started a new blog off with a review of this issue:

I thought the progression from Fowler to O'Driscoll to Time Keeping was smooth indeed, with the themes of time and immortaility (of sorts) linking them all very effectively.

A very satisfying issue I thought, though I couldn't help feeling Kaysen's should have lingered a little, taken its time. But that's probably just because I wanted more of it.

Just wrote my blog and gave the latest BS a mention, and well, I did think it was spooky, all that Dracula-ness going on:

Thanks for the kind words, Ross :D

Overall, I think my favourite was Davies' The Harvesting...a very deserved winner of the WHC contest.

Loved all the columns, as usual (something I must confess to often skipping in other publications!), but skipped to Pete's reviews first, cause I love em.

Also thought Richard Wagner's artwork was amazing. Loved it.

This was a terrific issue - one of the best for a while. I hope the planned Daniel Kaysen collection is due out soon as I am always enthralled by his writing. 'Hail' was easily my favourite of the issue. It always strikes me that his prose looks like lines of poetry on the page, and has a similar effect to the ear. A wonderful rhythm and pacing. I find the brevity quite inspiring.
