Hi,

Just a quick reminder to get your zombie short stories into Wild Wolf asap. If you remember we're looking for 3000-7000 words with the loose theme of zombie holiday, i.e. stories with outbreaks at holiday resorts, camping trips, cruise trips, foreign trips ...pretty much anything. Submit to submissions@wildwolfpublishing.com with something like ACCEPTED FOR 2011 ZOMBIE ANTHOLOGY in the email header. It's a penny a word upto a cap of 50 pounds, ($76). Peter Fussey will no doubt do a cracking cover picture and the title should be available in paperback and kindle sometime in the first half of the year.

Cheers,

Remy Porter

I've just read some very exciting entries for the Wild Wolf Publishing zombie anthology ...Iain McKinnon, Derek Gunn, Cal Miller, Shaun Jeffrey, R.M Cochran, Iain S Paton, Bowie V Ibarra to name a handful. Plenty more submissions on the way I'm promised - keep them coming to submissions@wildwolfpublishing.com

I know the actual deadline is "ASAP", but do you have any kind of ballpark figure about when you're closing things off? Thanks.

OK, so mine is now sent. I'm wondering whether I've cheated a little bit because it's a mutation of the virus that makes an appearance, and the original virus breaks out somewhere else that isn't a holiday destination (definitely not one, in fact), but the bulk of the story happens in a Dubai hotel, so presumably that's OK, but...

etc.

Point is, it's out there now and if it gets rejected, I guess it gets rejected.

No worries, it sounds a great story. What name did you submit under?

The email and the contact details on the first page say Nigel Hall, but the name under the title is Chelsea Tractor.

So far I know the following names are in...

Shaun Jeffrey, Iain Mckinnon, Tony Wright, Lee Kelly, Vallon Jackson (aka Matt Hilton), A.M. Boyle, R. M. Cochran, Tonia Brown, Iain S Paton, Bowie V Ibarra, Calvin A. L. Miller II, Derek Gunn, David Dunwoody, William Meikle, Nigel Hall, Rob Smith, John McCuaig, Joe Mckinney, Shawn M Riddle, R. Phillip Roberts, Asher Wismer, Wayne Simmons, Rod Glenn and A.P. Fuchs.

...Oh and John Russo, who co-wrote Night of the Living Dead. Fracking A!

Deadline for submissions is the end of this month I'm being told.

Waitwaitwaitwaitwait...

Just so this is totally clear: that's in as in "gonna get published", or in as in "entry received"?

Also, I actually briefly referenced Russo, so if "Burj" and his entry turn up in the same anthology, then some purely (creepily?) coincidental but very weird fourth-wall related stuff will be going on (metahorror?).

You're in mate ...as is Russo and touch wood Tony Burgess, the author/screenwriter of that amazingly original Canadian zombie film, Pontypool. Welcome to the big league! Lol

The anthology is scheduled to come out in kindle and paperback in June, although I think it will be more likely May. I'm sure you'll get a confirmation email in the next few weeks. I think it's going to be a bestseller!

Not me, it's my publisher. I'm just the author of Dead Beat and am using my contacts to hustle up some entries. I'll post up when I hear if you're in.
