This year's Moon.

Enjoyed this but why no mobile phones? Maybe the monsters had torn down the masts but the protagonists would have reached for their phones by reflex even when no connection.
My feeling that people so attached to mobiles they would have found someway to get signals up, even intermittent. Plus the photographer would have been keen to upload his work directly, maybe by satellite.

Lots of good things in it and very clever at times.

I saw it last week. It was chuntering around in my mind about no mobile phones, so I'm glad you've put it into words.
My favourite line is when he recounts living next to someone training to be a meterologist 'because its the only work where you can get if wrong every day and not lose you job.'

I still think the lack of mobile phone technology undermines the premise of the movie. The Zone review never mentions it.
