Having since watched the entire Keynote properly -- much better than unreliable blog feeds -- I've completely changed my mind. I want one!

A lot of the criticism is along the lines of "it isn't a very good netbook". Missing the point that it's not supposed to be a netbook.
Most significant drawbacks highlighted so far are lack of multi-tasking and no support for Flash content. Personally, I can live without the Flash content. A USB port would have been nice; you only get one with the dock, I think. Some of us still like typing on a real keyboard!

It has a keyboard, pops up automatically. To connect to an *external* keyboard you have to place the iPad in a keyboard dock.

Just received an e mail from Stonewash DD&AG about their magazine iPhone App but they want £1900 upfront and £750 per issue (it might just be 'or') which is rather steep for the E circulation of magazines like TTA's. It answers my question above though.

It looks like a lot of fun, though it's the same price as the iPad itself... The additional e-ink screen makes it more practical for long-form reading than the iPad.
But I think I'd rather have the iPad for web browsing and short periods of reading, and the Sony or Kindle for long periods of reading.
