At this moment we have 9087 registered users. However, if we were to delete everybody who has never posted here (and it appears the great majority of those sign on simply to link to their porm/gambling/whatever website), we would have only 291 registered users. Ho hum.

Not surprising, really...
:(

So, how do we go about building a more lively, if not thriving, online community..?
Facebook style fun & games?
Flash-fiction competitions?
A weekend quiz?

Got any suggestions?

Oh, that wasn't what I was getting at, though I can see how it might come over that way. I was thinking more along the lines of deleting all those spammy gits. There should be a facility in Admin where you can delete all accounts that haven't posted. Of course there'd be a few genuine people deleted, but omelettes and eggs

If you want a more active forum you simply let the spammers post

I agree (blushing, conscious of the fact that I'm a lurker, rather and a poster).

But from now on I'm make more of an effort. I used to post on the old style forum, I just fell out of the habit recently...

I'll rectify that.

Hi Steve! :D

Don't forget to play twenty questions with us.

A suggestion. If the board had the dedicated author threads - starting with Christopher Fowler, Stephen Volk and Mike O'Driscoll, people would in come droves. Have threads for all authors you publish and those who post on the boards. Have them pop in once a week to answer questions about their work etc? Or have a guest author on line each week. That would be very popular. Might get more people to post. Pick a night - stick to it and have an author answer questions for an hour. It would be popular.

Hi Ally (and Ben, Ross and everyone else),

I used to like the old TTA forums where you had dedicated author sections.

It was a great mine of information.
