Great tournament, and great fun to have a team to follow, even if only for a short while.

What's next for this sweepstake malarkey?

Ian

I believe there's a women's world cup next year, Ian...

Just noticed the Women's World Cup is about to start - are we sweepstaking?

A little off-topic as this isn't about a sweepstake: just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying the Women's World Cup. Germany are as impressive as I expected, Nigeria played a fab game the other day, too. Ivory Coast have by far the best haircuts, although sadly they won't be progressing.

As for England... we'll see tonight, I think, as to what they're capable of.

Ian - sorry, I think I dropped the ball on this. Next time (Euros?) we'll do the full sweepstake thing. Who knows Scotland might even be there.

Julie - surprisingly England are doing well, but I think they're going to need to beat Colombia to go any farther. I reckon Japan are going to be very hard to beat again this year.

England showed how well they can play against Mexico, I think the slightly dodgy performance against France was more down to tactics. USA have not been on top of their game, but I'm happy if the 'smaller' teams do well.

An exciting development: I managed to get hold of a Panini Women's World Cup sticker album and a couple of packs (for my sister, but I'm tempted to keep it myself). Very, very difficult to get hold of down here in Cornwall!

That's a wonderful development. I didn't know Panini were still in business. Fantastic!
