I haven't seen much mention of this, but Debbie Moon, who contributed short stories for TTA Press magazines and elsewhere quite a bit in the past (originally under the name Ceri Jordan, later under her own name) won a BAFTA Children's Award on Sunday, as Best Writer for the CBBC series Wolfblood. Link here - scroll down to the bottom for Debbie's category.

Interzone (pre TTA) old boy Michael Blumlein provided the New Scientist's Christmas issue with 'Y(ou)r q(ua)ntifi(e)d s(el)f, a short story' which you can read here His story "Tissue Ablation and Variant Regeneration: A Case Report" - was a rather controversial addition to the young Interzone of Spring 1984. And I met him briefly at Loncon 3.

Simon Kurt Unsworth's first novel "THE DEVIL'S DETECTIVE" was published October last year. Here is a review from Kirkus

Tanith Lee has had 7 stories in Interzone between 1998 and her last in #191, Sep 03, 'Malicious Springs'. Tanith was not at Eastercon despite the launch of her collection 'Blood 20: Tales of Vampire Horror' from Telos Publishing. The reason: Tanith is extremely ill and her husband John Kaiine deputised for her at the launch. Tanith has other books due from Telos, Storm Constantine's Immanion and Dawe, who are reprinting several of her novels, so she is missing all the excitement. We all wish her the best at this time.

Seems he has disappeared off the scene. Damn shame, I always looked forward to his appearances in Black Static.

I seem to recall Andy mentioning a collection. I'll have to check.

We have a Daniel Kaysen story you might not have seen, "From the Point of View of the Dog", in new anthology The World and the Stars. It's a reprint originally published in Scheherazade magazine. The anthology is indie published and mostly reprints (18 reprints and 6 originals). It's dedicated to Peter T. Garratt who was published in Interzone back in the day, and the authors include many other Interzone contributors including Tanith Lee, Elizabeth Counihan, Sue Thomason, Nigel Brown, Liz Williams, Sarah Singleton, Stephen Gaskell, Cherith Baldry and Rebecca J. Payne. A review is up on SF crowsnest.

Andy is in touch with Daniel Kaysen so no need for concern Ross.
