I guess the beauty of Likewise is that it's so stark we can read whatever we want into it - everyone seems agreed it's about bad stuff happening in the name of progress though.

Now to read today's tale (this is much better than chocolate, Pete, thanks).

I read the Bacon story when it first appeared in Tales from The Smoking Room and it's one of the most memorable stories I've read in the last year; supremely atmospheric.

Just read Stephen's story and if there's one thing I hate it's opening an advent calendar to find it full of spiders... argghh! (if they were chocolate then that would be something else)

Another sweet treat today, thanks Marc-Anthony. Love the line about where minds go...

Congrats on the Estronomicon acceptance, too!

Like Cate I'm going to have to catch up later, and Cate, a belated welcome to Interaction.

Schedule for next four days:-

11th - Shaun C. Green
12th - Jamie Langan
13th - Catherine J. Gardner
14th - Jenn Reese

We're good up to the 20th, so still looking for contributors.

Thanks for the welcome, Pete. :D

My favourite so far is 'Fairy Tales, with Clowns' and I swear I'm not saying that just because Pete waved hello. From the moment I read, "I'm a princess and you're a clown," I knew they'd be mini treats. Laugh out loud funny.

I didn't quite get Likewise by Daniel Kaysen but I thought it was beautifully written. I thought it might be about armageddon. A poetic, obsessive compulsive view of the end of the world.

Marc Anthony Taylor's Standing Still had a delicious end, and how nasty (may I add, not in an 'oh my god, that was awful' way) was St James Infirmary Blues. Sick mind, JourneyMouse.

Still pushed for time but I hope to read the latest additions tomorrow (I'll give church a miss this week). In meantime, here's a schedule update:-

13th - Catherine J. Gardner
14th - Jenn Reese
15th - Gary McMahon
16th - Stephanie Campisi

Gary didn't write me, but I stumbled across a seasonal flash by him today and so decided to nominate it myself.

Four places left. If you've got something suitable send a link to whitenoise@ttapress.com

Thanks! I was going for Rendlesham Forest meets 'Spaced'. Anyone remember 'Spaced'?

Ah, I can only repeat what you said yourself previously....it's a privilege to be included with such a great range of talent.
Big thanks to Pete for brightening up our December!
