Initially I expected Marc's "Human Nature" to have a VR twist, but it wasn't that obvious. Nasty depiction of war and men at their worst, and great ending. It takes a child to strip away all of the delusions and lies we tell each other so we can still feel good about ourselves.

Nice word picture from Michael with "The Deluge". Echoes of a life playing backwards, or a threnody on the theme put forward by some Greek guy (Heraclites?) that you can never step in the same river twice. The Big Issue seller grounds it, and the last line is sweet.

Okay, I'm done, and I believe this is officially Twelfth Night (or is it tomorrow?). Lots of good stuff on our Advent journey, and my personal favourites were Steve P's, Ray's and Rebecca's (even though nobody died horribly).

After a bit of head-scratching, I've managed to rework my Advent Calendar entry Flaws as a Kindle e-book. I redrafted it a bit while I was there.

(Difficult to do, because the Kindle as no memory. The story now uses 1 nibble, which is 4 bits. More about that here (http://threeedgedsword.wordpress.com/20 ... /#more-112), if you're interested.)

It's available from Amazon here (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004VFO8SA) as a one-dollar download (can't see a way to release for free).

Anyone interested in doing this for a third year, or is it an idea that has run its course?

Thoughts please.

I'd certainly like to see it again (and take part, if I'm needed/wanted)!

Definately - was only talking about it this morning actually. I've written one ready and have another in the halfway stage just in case there's room for a second shot.

Pete, are you doing your own take on it again as well? Last year's was brilliant.

I might come up with one story Ray, but afraid my Christmas spirit was exhausted by last year's effort. This year I'm strictly a 'Bah! Humbug!' kind of guy

I'd like another advent calendar. Not added much this year, though. I'll see if I can come up with something special for you :)

Definitely, it was excellent last time. It's a fine idea, and the sort of fun that needs to be about to baste the Christmas period. It involves, it creates discussion, and it encourages - what more is needed other than a very big cake?

Sounds like fun. Can we have a recap on the rules of engagement, please? I'm claiming cyber-angels, GM donkeys, and supernovae in advance!

There's a sentence you don't see every day.

At last, at last! The tinsel of originality droops over the sagging pine needles of my prose!

As it's Christmas, let's leave the politicians out of it.

Last year's rules of engagement here:-

I don't think anything needs changing, but open to suggestions.

I'm wondering what possible modification would improve a donkey... in a strictly wholesome way, of course. :)
