Just to say I went, I listened, I enjoyed!

I've only listened to this episode, so far (no sound at work, no time at home) but generally the site looks shiny and, for this particular episode, production quality is great. I also thought it was well read, so "good job" to John Berlyne.

I really enjoy Tim Aker's stories in Interzone and am looking forward to his forthcoming novel from Solaris.

One of the things that I really like about The Algorithm is the well-imagined world of Veridon and the strange cog church. I probably should have seen the ending coming, but I didn't.

John Berlyne does an excellent job of reading this story. My favorite line in the whole thing is "There are darker angels" -- you'll see why when you hear it in context, with John's superior delivery.

I love this story, particularly in the way it hints at a bigger yarn, and in the way it is read here. That line about darker angels reminds me of Galadriel's line in the movie where she is tempted by the ring - similar effect. I rather like the opening line of the story myself.

I met John Berlyne at Fantasycon. He said he really enjoyed The Algorithm and the work. I gave him a copy of the story, an IZ 212. (Very few left now, hint) Unfortunately, for TFB, John is joining a literary agency and will have no time for long audio recording sessions.

We wish him well in his new career and maybe (hopefully) some of our authors will work with him again in his new profession.
