Gotta say I agree with the 'Black Static squint' comment regarding the latest Crimewave. My favourite here was certainly 'Openings', an excellently skewed narrative. I enjoyed 'Appearances' very much as well.
Just thought I'd share.

I've just started getting through the stories in Now You See Me, and I must say, Joel's Even The Pawn is just staggeringly good. The final page is a tour de force of writing.
One of my favourite Joel Lane stories and that's really saying something.

Thanks everybody for your comments so far. Please keep them coming!

Meanwhile, another review, this one by Bookgasm editor Rod Lott, which begins "Publications like CRIMEWAVE TEN: NOW YOU SEE ME make me want to move to England" and ends... well, see for yourself: Bookgasm.

A very enthusiastic review by RJ Barker in the November SF Crowsnest, and that's even though he didn't fully appreciate some of the stranger, darker turns taken. (Now traditional for CW, but it was a conscious editorial decision to, well, go further this time.)

I have just recently finished reading Crimewave 10: Now You See Me. What can I say? I am stunned by the quality of these stories. There was not a single piece that I didn't enjoy here, so much so that it's difficult to pick favourites. That said, if I had to pick a few I'd probably go for Joel Lane's "Even the Pawn", Simon Avery's "101 Ways to Leave Paris", Darren Speegle's "Suadade" and Daniel Kaysen's "The Opening". Superb stuff!
