Just heard from editor Ed Gorman. It's official: my story "Plainview" is going to be included in his best-of-the-year anthology. This is really exciting. I've had several stories receive honorable mention, but this is the first one to make the final cut.

I imagine that's just part one, Dave, and not not both parts?
Talking of year's best anthologies, Maxim Jakubowski's copy of CW11 somehow failed to arrive, so considering that, and the fact that CW11 was published so late in the year anyway, Maxim -- a great supporter of Crimewave -- will be considering the stories for the next volume. Those by British authors anyway...

Reading that reminds me just how much I loved Plainview. I must read it again. Superbly told story.

Andy, the contract for the anthology just said "Plainview," so I assume they're going to reprint both parts of the story. I just got paid for the anthology, so it should be out soon. I guess we'll find out then!
