Post subject:  Case Notes - The Blog

Will go live tomorrow, when hopefully the point of this thread will become abundantly clear.

Either that, or Andy will have cause to regret allowing a techno-idiot access to the Admin of his shiny new website

Okay, the new blog just kicked off here:-

http://www.ttapress.com/blackstatic/casenotesblog/

Let's have some feedback from everybody on what sort of stuff you want to see in this, or as an alternative I can just make it up as I go along and then we'll all be sorry.

You should definately read The Absence by Bill Hussey, i'm 3/4 of the way through and it's awesome.

Nice synchronicity, Ross. I should finish "Garbage Man" and start "The Absence" tonight.

There's also going to be a Bookzone blog for Interzone, as soon as I extract a digit.

Oh, you SF types. You can't see us Horror readers with something, but you have to have it as well. All dates back to when you nicked "Frankenstein"

Oh yeah? Well, you can keep your syphilitic vampires. Happy?

Vampires are supernatural creatures. They don't get human diseases. That whole syphilis thing was just a rumour started by Brian Aldiss - another case of genre envy, and all very sad

Latest blog has been posted here:-

http://ttapress.com/597/celebrating-ligotti/0/5/

And I've set up a thread down in Books if anybody feels inspired to discuss Ligotti and his work.

I'm also interested in posting stuff by other people on the blog, so if anyone fancies writing a paragraph or three on their favourite Ligotti story or similar, then get in touch via whitenoise@ttapress.com

Another blog entry here:-

This time I tell you how to get reviewed in Case Notes, and how not to.

I'm now formulating interview questions for our featured author in Black Static #11 (June).

I'm hoping to tie that in with the Case Notes blog. Questions in the magazine will be specific to the book(s) reviewed, but I'd like to draw up a list of generic questions, the answers to which could be posted on the blog. So, what sort of things would you like to know about a writer?

Favourite horror book/story/film? Why do you write horror? What's the worst thing that has ever happened to you? How many books do you own?

Suggestions, anyone?

Personally, I'm always interested in that transitional period between whatever their job used to be to becoming a full time writer - how did it happen, how hard was it, etc.

How many dead bodies have you seen? (Followed by) Oh, go on - do tell.

Thanks Ray, and Jim your suggestion has some merit but, erm, what if the writer doesn't come from Glasgow?

Anyone else?
