The following competitions to win Region 2 DVDs appear in the forthcoming Black Static 6. But you can enter now. Answer as many of the following questions as you like and email them, with your postal address, to competitions [at] ttapress [dot] demon.co.uk. Winners will be drawn from a hat on 30th August and announced on this thread. The only catch is that you must be a current Black Static subscriber. I think that’s only fair.

Btw, despite a previous announcement we are holding back The Tattooist (release date 29th September) review and competition till Black Static 7.

We get more entries for these competitions each time, but I hope we get a lot more this time! If you'd like to enter but are thinking how the hell am I supposed to know that? I'm sure there must be some sort of internet movie database that'd help.

We have 5 copies of [REC] to give away.
What is the title of the 2008 US remake of [REC]?

We have 3 copies of EXTE: HAIR EXTENSIONS to give away.
Chiaki Kuriyama played Girls #13 in which Japanese film?

We have 5 copies of THE SICK HOUSE to give away.
Who is the ex-EastEnders star with a role in this film?

We have 5 copies of GHOST GAME to give away.
Ghost Game was banned in which country?

We have 5 copies of ZOMBIES to give away.
Who was originally going to direct this film?

We have 5 copies of BLOODBATH AT THE HOUSE OF DEATH to give away.
What is the name of the Manor where the action takes place?

We have 5 copies of EDEN LOG to give away.
Franck Vestial worked on which film known in the UK as Them?

We have 3 copies of AWAKE to give away.
Who did Jessica Alba replace as lead actress in this film?

We have 3 copies of UNEARTHED to give away.
What role does Luke Goss have in Hellboy II: The Golden Army?

Tony Lee reviews all the above DVDs and many others, and interviews the directors of [REC], in his Blood Spectrum column. Subscribe now!

Oh dear. I forgot about this, sorry, head's all over the place lately. I'll get somebody to make the draw this weekend and I'll post the results here afterwards. Good luck everybody!

Great news! I loved [REC] at the cinema when I saw it and am thrilled to be getting the DVD. The final few scenes still come back to me every now and again if I'm alone at night and hear a strange sound coming from my attic...it'll be nice revisiting the movie again and adding more fuel to that particular anxiety :)

Thanks, Andy. I'm chuffed with my [REC] DVD win. I haven't yet seen the film, but I've heard many good things about it.

The prizes have all arrived now, apart from The Sick House, and I'm getting a big post ready now. Will send out The Sick House as soon as it arrives – the PR company just doesn't have any copies yet either.

Quick update on The Sick House. Still no copies. I've chased again, this time with no response at all. Looks like we'll have to give up on these. It's a crap film, but all the same, my apologies to the winners.
