It occurs to me, in White Noise this time last year, we had a bit on books being launched at the BFS Convention.

All I know of for this year are "Twisthorn Bellow" by Rhys Hughes and "For You Faustine" by Allyson Bird.

There must surely be some more. What are they? Anyone?

Horror only, of course, though my definition of horror is so broad as to be almost totally inclusive, except for stuff with elves, unless they're really nasty elves that is, elves with fangs and razor nails

I am once again in newshound mode, so send me some news, somebody, anybody.

It's for the October issue, so anything happening from mid-October on is fair game.

The address is whitenoise@ttapress.com

Still open to news items for the October issue, so send me something.

And those who visit the Black Static section of the site regularly, may have noticed that I have started posting news items there too, stuff that is happening now rather than in the future - book releases, imminent signings etc.

So, another good reason to send your news to whitenoise@ttapress.com

I don't guarantee I'll use it, but you'll never know unless you take a shot.

Yep. I don't know why George didn't mention it last time he emailed me

I can however post it as a White Noise news item on the website, and will.

White Noise in the magazine is news of stuff in the 'far' future (i.e. post publication date of Black Static), but the stuff I'm posting to the website is supposed to have a bit more immediacy. I don't think it particularly matters for book releases etc, but live events such as signings, readings, film festivals, things where you may have to make arrangements in advance, what sort of notice would people like?

Should I post as soon as I know about them, or closer to the time for fear they may get forgotten otherwise?

Radio 4's Front Row was a vampire special today, 28 Oct.
You can listen again for 7 days. I heard parts of it and they seemed to cover the obvious. I heard no mention of, say, Peter Watts' Blindsight

Quote:
Arts news and reviews. Mark Lawson reports on why vampires continue to inspire best-selling books, new films and TV series, with guests including Dacre Stoker, great-grandnephew of Dracula author Bram Stoker.

Which links in with the 'Quelle Surprise' thread somewhere below.

Okay, send me some news for the December issue please folks.

Someone somewhere must be doing something newsworthy, and if you tell me about it then I can tell our gazillions of readers, both of whom I'm reasonably confident will be interested.

Address, as always, whitenoise@ttapress.com

What I said in the post above, only now it's for the February issue.

So send me some news, or we'll have White Space instead of White Noise.
