A second glimpse of David Gentry’s artery in the forthcoming Black Static 2.

Very moody and inspiring stuff. Looking forward to getting my hands on it.

Black Static 2 will also contain photographs of David Gentry and me. Needless to say, this issue will be much in demand.

This issue will be delivered to TTA Towers at the end of this week, so could I please ask subscribers to check the status of their subscriptions* and renew before then, so we can send as many copies as possible out in the mass mailing and avoid postal delays etc. Thanks. :)

*I have a feeling I might've put some subscription reminders in the Interzone box and not the Black Static box. Force of habit. If you have a cross and a 1 or a 2 in the Interzone box please consider that a reference to Black Static issue 1 or 2 and not shorthand for for some future IZ.

Every single subscriber, contributor and mail-order copy is now bagged and sorted and waiting to be collected by Royal Mail and DHL (overseas), which will be Monday morning. UK copies should arrive in a few days, and so should overseas copies (uh-huh), more of which on the Overseas thread.

Looking forward to your comments and discussion of the content on this thread. Also, if you feel inclined, please blog (etc) about the magazine, generally help spread the word. Thanks!

Arrived in Sussex this morning. In my copy there appears to be some text missing on p2 - the 'Upcoming' box peters out prematurely, ending with "And we'll be introducing some new regular columnists as we go along, with a view to ultimately..." - and there it ends!

Turned up today in Workington. She's a beaut, Andy! Although I think your printer must do something the dog likes, because he seems to like it as much as the he liked the last Interzone. Maybe I should take a "cute" photo when I've read it.

Hi,

I was wondering if there is any way to buy copies of BLACK STATIC individually from tta (as opposed to a subscription straight off the bat)? I hope I'm right in thinking that issues one and two are the only ones that have been produced recently. I'd like to read them, then decide on a subscription.

Thanks

You can get individual issues via the back issues system but they cost a little more because of the extra work involved. That price includes postage but you might as well subscribe.

Where are you located.

Regarding individual back issues:

1- Unless I am blind I cannot even see an option for ordering individual Black Static issues, even at a slightly higher price.

2 - I think it makes sense to at least offer an option of purchasing individual issues. Now I'm a long-time Interzone reader, but Black Static is a new magazine, so I have no idea whether I will like it or not, so having to take a chance on forking out for a 6-issue subscription is a bit offputting when you 'financially challenged' (or tight!). Of course, if I could actually see the magazine on the shelves here in Bristol I could pick up a copy and try it out, but alas no-one seems to stock it, even the Interzone supporting Borders.

Maybe selling individual issues is a real pain for you guys, but it just might lead to more people trying Black Static out?
