I suggested a bit of red, but dunno if any used.
A splash or two of that colour might be a suitably 'nasty', look, I think.

David Gentry's top banana. He's doing the cover for my next novel from Immanion.

The packing gnomes have crayons and like colouring in. This could be arranged.

Re colour, a bit more seriously: Black Static suggests to me, you know, black  but the addition of a certain spot colour is an excellent idea, and I've been thinking about it since Tony suggested it, and mentioned it to the printer when I was there the other day. It's definitely maybe something for the future, if we can work out how to use it properly, most effectively. I'll talk to Tony and everyone about it again soon no doubt. The good thing about it is -- and this is my theory, based on experience but still a theory -- if we're forced to seal the pages anyway one extra colour during the process might not make much difference to the production cost*. We'll see!

*or any at all even. In theory...

You're really going to regret the name if it comes back from the printer with all the covers stuck together.

Aren't they giving away free anti-static wristbands with each issue? :P

Delivery this afternoon -- unexpected! -- so assuming all is well it'll be mailing out this weekend.

I'm afraid disaster has struck. The printing has gone wrong. My man is off sick. Awaiting call back from someone else. Will have to fix it one way or another because I wouldn't be happy to send this out as it is. A... delay... is probably inevitable. Gutted.

Sorry to hear of the problems, Andy.
Was it something the printer changed *after* proof stage?
I hate it when that happens!
:o :x

Considering the quality of your products, I certainly don't mind waiting for corrections.
