I think the Alan Wall story is absolutely brilliant. |

Post subject: | COFFINMAKER'S BLUES name change |
In case any Black Static readers share Colin Harvey of Suite 101's puzzlement at the change of name of my column from "Electric Darkness" to "Coffinmaker's Blues" - a quick word of explanation! I was always uncomfortable having inherited Christopher Fowler's column "Electric Darkness", which was intended (Chris says) as primarily a cinema comment piece. My own remit as agreed with the editor was rather different, and rather broader - i.e. I wanted to provide musings on the craft, concerns, highs and lows, of a professional Horror writer. I always wanted, in fairness to Chris, to change the title. "Coffinmaker's Blues" occurred to me as catching the right feel of what I was trying to do, and Andy Cox happily relented. It doesn't represent any change in my intention with the column - quite the reverse. It's a more appropriate name for what I hopefully will continue to do. |

Bit late reading this one, but favourites for me were the Tim Lees and Alan Wall stories. |

In the long wait for Black Static #29 I posted a couple more issues on Amazon for Kindle and they are there now and you can 'look within'. This link takes you to a choice of 9 issues, #20 to #28. #29 won't be there for a while yet. #22 & 23 are new today. BS 22 is now on Amazon, Fictionwise and Smashwords if you want an ebook edition. |
