The pound is well down against the dollar and the Euro. So much so that a 6 issue subscription to Interzone or Black Static is around $42 or Eu30. It was $54 when I was at Worldcon in August.

So for our overseas subscribers, actual and potential now is a good time to renew or take the plunge.

UK subscribers, potential and actual; have you returned from overseas with left over currency? Maybe we can come to an arrangement where you can use that rather than exchange it at a big discount. If you are interested e mail me roy (at) ttapress (dot) demon (dot) co (dot) uk.

Pound exchange rate predicted to drop to $1.38.
At that price a 6 issue subscription to Interzone or Black Static is around $38
What a bargain for US readers.

If you are feeling charitable why wait? The pound needs your help now.

Today's present exchange rates of €1.18 and $1.4834 per pound mean that US subscribers would pay around $40 and European subscribers just €28.3 for a 6 issue sub. I say 'around' because it depends on how your credit card supplier converts the currencies and charges your account. Even so now is a good time to renew even if you have a few issues to go.

A few minutes ago the exchange rates were [url=http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/fds/hi/business/market_data/overview/default.stm]s. Get your skates on, and why not renew for two years, these rates can't last; can they??

A US 6 issue/1 year subscription comes in at just under $40. ($39.6) and for 12 issues/2 years it is merely $70.41.

In Europe the equivalents are €27.12 and €50.85.

These figures taken through the TTA on line shop today.

I've just tried to place an order for a 6-issue subscription to IZ, but I can't find any reference to the UK/GB in the country field. The default option is Afghanistan!

Is there something that 'llI'm overlooking? If I place my order anyway, will you promise not to dispatch them to Tadley, Afghanistan?

To answer my own question: it's necessary to click on 'OK' for Dispatch Choice: UK before proceeding to the shop ;)

Yes it is confusing at times but at least it worked for you in the end. We are hoping to get an improved website with a better shop soon.

I re-subscribed to Interzone this week, and though the "old" Shop is not a fantastic interface it's fairly swift - and accepting Paypal is rare in my experience.

I'd seen issue 221's cover and looked at my pile of Interzone Mags. from 2002 to issue 220 and HAD to sign up for another 12!

Good on you Leif and anyone else who does the same.

I will be at Eastercon with a supply of back issues, subscription forms, chocolates and change for those who visit our stand.
PS we don't charge for the chocs.

Thanks Roy,

Interzone is part of my everyday reading - I go back to old issues and re-read stuff all the time, but there's nothing like receiving the newest issue...

It's good to hear from satisfied subscribers Leif. Thanks for that but we can't have you keep re-reading all those back issues. I think you should subscribe to Black Static pdq and stack the back issues in the loft.
