Here are DHL Global Mail's approximate delivery times to various parts of the world:
http://www.dhl-globalmail.com/dpgm?tab= ... xmlFile=54
We use 'standard' delivery because, as you can see, there's very little difference between that and the more expensive 'priority', and delivery time within the UK itself is about five days anyway.
Overseas readers will be amazed. As I told DHL Global Mail again this morning, there is no way magazines are arriving anywhere in approximately those times, especially North America where they seem to be taking several weeks. It's an incredible difference and clearly DHL are not delivering the service they promise, not that they seem to mind. They refuse to compensate me for a recent mailing in which a lot of copies failed to arrive at all and for which replacements had to be sent.
However, they have promised me that they will send our next two mailings 'priority'. That's to North America only -- sorry, I tried. On the face of it that would be a difference in delivery of just four days, but it'll be interesting to see what happens. Delivery should, at least, be quicker.
What we do after that I'm afraid I'm not sure. I asked. If the 'priority' delivery time turns out to be approximately ten days (to the USA) it sounds like they'd expect us to pay the 'priority' rate despite receiving the 'standard' service.
So, for the next two mailings -- Black Static 2 and Interzone 213 -- I'm looking forward to your reports of arrival. I'll let you know the exact date DHL Global Mail pick the copies up from TTA Towers. Thanks.

All overseas copies of IZ213 picked up by DHL Global Mail on the 8th November. I'm still trying to get all copies sent 'Priority' but North American copies are definitely going that way, and that, according to DHL's timetable (see link above) is six days from collection to delivery. Even if copies to elsewhere go 'Standard' it isn't much longer. Well, so they say – we know different, don't we. Anyway, please let us know via this thread. Many thanks.

Arrived today (Nov 27) in Sydney Australia. Not exactly within DHL's 12 day estimate, but at least it arrived in good condition and I've not missed an issue yet so I'm not really minding.

I'm pretty sure that all copies went Priority, so should have arrived in 6 days... And still no sign of arrival in North America...

Is that 6 days to get them from here into the local post or 6 days total?

Arrived in Paris--probably last Monday, given the other people who've chimed in, but I was on holiday at the time and didn't get to unstack the mail until today.
Looking forward to reading it.

Arrived in Ohio, U.S.A., with today's mail. The magazine was in perfect shape. And I guess DHL will say it lived up to its promise to Andy because the plastic wrapper did have a big old postage-style sticker on the front saying "PRIORITAIRE." Not that it arrived any faster, but it still said priority!
Anyway, it looks like a great issue.
