UK Borders bookshops have been bought out by a private equity organisation. Some Borders do stock Interzone. If anyone does notice IZ disappearing from their local Borders over the next few months can you mention it here, please.
Of course the takeover may lead to more Borders stocking IZ but that might be wishful thinking of the extreme kind.

I haven't seen the latest issue in the Glasgow branch (in Buchanan Street) yet, and they normally stock it.

Thanks Jim. Probably a bit soon to blame the evil asset strippers as they only took over last week.

Just got my 212 issue from Borders in Swansea but only after I went to Waterstones where they normally stock it and found they have issue 210 on display as the newest edition, I put them right...

I'll have to check again. Normally they get their copies before I get my subscription copy.

Shares in Borders UK and Ireland, including the interests of Books etc,
have been purchased by Risk Capital Partners (RCP). RCP claim a good
understanding and track record across a range of consumer, retail,
leisure and support services businesses. They have interests in Retail,
Leisure (a restaurant chain), Food and Drink, Healthcare and other
service sectors. Borders Group retained a 17% stake in the UK business.
RCP is led by Luke Johnson who first came into the public eye with his
highly successful time as Chairman of Pizza Express in the 90s. He sits
on the board of several of Risk’s companies and is also Chairman of
Channel 4 Television Corporation. Luke is also said to be a passionate
book lover.
Interzone's distributor Central Books comment, "At first glance this
looks like a good outcome and we expect the chain\'s commitment to
specialist magazines to continue."

Of course, there's a massive pile of them in the Glasgow Borders now.

I counted 16 in the Glasgow branch today, Roy. I think a couple have sold since the last time I looked, but I didn't think to count them then. I'll keep you posted on how they do.

I saw a large pile of Interzone #218 prominently displayed in the magazine section of Borders in Bristol this afternoon.

29th Sept - 5th Oct is Magazine Week at Borders, and they're doing a Buy One, Get One Half Price promotion if anybody wants to check out IZ on the cheap when they pop in to get their usual magazine fix, whatever that happens to be.
Or check something else out when they get their IZ of course
