Thanks again. As far as I know we only send one file and F'wise convert it to all the differing reader formats. So if the PDF is OK, for text at least, then it looks like F'wise have boobed but I'll tell Pete and see if we can get a response.
Is the PDF of 217 any better?
Incidentally do similar faults in F'wise files occur with the other SF magazines? Has anyone noticed?

No, I haven't seen that happen with others.
They aren't anywhere near as graphically inclusive, not sure if that is why?
I can ask on the fictionwise mailing list, I suppose. Doesn't make sense they cut off one.
If they are having problems handling it may explain the slowness, though.

Thanks again. Maybe the images put some strain on F'wise systems.
I must admit some of the slow updating has been our fault but we have had problems with F'wise. They were resolved but took a long while and then along came the B & N takeover.
We always welcome any help so if you do find anything out pleas let us know.

Quoting our esteemed electronic editions editor
Quote: Fictionwise normally has processing days every two weeks, but they just twisted things up last week. Instead of having August 4 as a processing day for the two weeks that came before, they made July 28th a processing day for the one week before and now August 11 will be the processing day for the previous two weeks. I think they did this to more closely align the end of quarter dates to align with the new two week ending periods. Worst case scenario, everything should be up for the public at FW by Sept. 1st, probably a week sooner though. 27952
Sorry about the delays but files for Interzone 222 and 223 also with BS 10 & 11 should be posted soon. Maybe Monday - Pacific Standard Time

Got my Interzones 222 and 223 today, and enjoying them already. 222 is missing Laser Fodder again, but it's there in 223.

Thanks for that Rolnikov. Yes the Interzones 222 and 223 were posted while I was away and later than expected. Let's hope BS 11 follows soon.
Sorry about the missing 222 Laser Fodder. Is it there on any of the other versions?

Fictionwise updated again with IZ 224 and BS 10.
The b....ds are still selling BS subscriptions at half price. $10.18 !!
That's £6.22
We always welcome any help so if you do find anything wrong please let us know.

Are they allowed to do that? You know, without asking?

It seems so. This is the second week it started on or before 18th Oct.
At least IZ is unaffected.
Maybe it will bring in loads of new subs, they'll all renew at full whack next year and I'll eat my words.

Just received Interzone 224 from Fictionwise and I'm enjoying it, but Laser Fodder's missing again, I'm afraid, at least from the epub and pdf versions. The pdf also has lots of places where it says stuff like INSERT IMAGE "Authors-IS224-2975.jpg" HERE.
Here's hoping you move over to Amazon soon and give me an excuse to buy a Kindle...

Check your email Stephen. It's something, I hope. Meanwhile, we'll try to get the fictionwise problems sorted.

I contacted the good folks at Fictionwise about this and they have just informed me that Interzone 224 has now been fixed. So please go to your bookshelf and get a corrected version. If you have any other issues with one of our magazines at Fictionwise, please let us know. Thanks.
