Lois Tilton’s 2013 Reviews in Review has a a small section on IZ and each of its peers.
Sarah Brooks’ “Trans-Siberia: An Account of a Journey” is seems to be her favourite from the year.

"The Kindest Man in Stormland” by John Shirley
“Hareton K-12 County School and Adult Extension” by James Van Pelt
“Dark Gardens” by Greg Kurzawa
are her other picks, all late year issue stories.

Nina Allan's "Spin" gets a mention.

"The Hareton K-12 County School and Adult Extension" by James Van Pelt is hands-down my favourite Interzone story of 2013. Other stories that got my upvote (no downvotes from me) are:

"The Book Seller" by Lavie Tidhar

"Paskutinis Iliuzija (The Last Illusion)" by Damien Walters Grintalis

"Triolet" by Jess Hyslop

"Technarion" by Sean McMullen

"Unknown Cities of America" by Tim Lees

"The Kindest Man in Stormland" by John Shirley

"Trans-Siberia: An Account of a Journey" by Sarah Brooks
