Another great issue. I absolutely loved 'Seeking Captain Random' by Vylar Kaftan. Wonderful! Really enjoyed the Lavie Tidhar too, and Ray's Bloodcloth is going to give me nightmares... |

It's weird how often reviewers don't mention the non-fiction parts of the magazine, or just give them a line or two at the end. |

Rich Horton reviews (and likes) Beasts in the July Locus (#619). Interzone is also the fifth-equal most popular magazine with Locus readers, according to their annual poll. |

Only 5th! What could possibly be better, though Black Static might be forgiveable? |

Black Static just missed the cut, apparently. Interzone was beaten by Asimov's, F&SF, Analog and NY Review of SF. Be interesting to see if NYRSF's decision to discontinue their print edition and go entirely electronic affects their standing next year. |

When I read the first few stories I was a little disappointed as this was my first Interzone. They were good and I enjoyed them, but I was expecting a little more... Then came Ray Cluley's Bloodcloth, and Tracie Welser's A Body Without Fur and they totally pulled it back for me. Two fantastic stories!! Can't wait to get stuck into 241 now.. ![]() |
