I got my copy a few days ago (not sure exactly when it arrived, I had to get through the four-foot snowbank between me and my mailbox first.) I've got to admit I haven't gotten past the first page, because I haven't finished admiring the cover art yet. Interzone always has had exceptional cover art, but man, I really love this one.

Lois Tilton review from Locus Online.

"The scent of the future comes on opening a new issue of IZ."

The "scent of the future" just reached the Canadian hinterlands and in perfect condition. Amazing really as it had to wade through two feet of snow at -16 C.

I'm gonna shoot first and state "Intellectual Property" as a favourite, narrowly beating "Noam Chomsky and the Time Box". Then again, ontological messing about is kinda my thing. So I'm biased.

I enjoyed 'Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise' by Sue Burke the most, I think (still not decided), but it's a close call between that and 'By Plucking Her Petals' by Sarah L. Edwards. I should really try to decide before the end of the year because putting together votes for the reader's poll is tricky, isn't it. The main thing is I enjoyed them both - you don't think about polls when you've been sucked into a good story.

Thanks, Chelsea_Tractor, glad you enjoyed the story.

I think 'Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise' by Sue Burke was my favourite. There was something dark and sinister lurking just below the waves. It was beautifully done.

Ah, eau de tomorrow.
Better patent and bottle that, quick - before yesterday, or there could be nasty time paradox.

I am 2 stories in to this (my first issue) and am enjoying it so far.

Just read intellectual property and loved it. It was made especially good by the fact I didn't guess the ending, until I reached the end of the story. I just love stories that give you a real suprise at the end and this one really clicked with me. Made me want to go back to the start and re read it, but this time knowing the ending.

Ah, but you see, it is/it might not be/it isn't too late. I already set up a stable time loop spanning the whole existence of any patent office anywhere, which means that I have/I am/I will patented/patenting/patent the scent of the future in a manner that no-one/you, if you're quick/anyone can take away from me! Huge profits/some money/nothing will result! Mwahahahaha!/Hmmmm.../Damn.
