So I received this letter addressed to Interzone but delivered to my address. My! someone is keen to get their annual poll vote in, I thought. But no, instead it's a heartfelt request for help from Rachel (aged ten)..
Can anyone help identify this story...
"A German girl in the seige of Berlin in the Second World War, who finds in a bombed-out museum a Babylonian ring which transports her mind back into past lives."
The girl - who may be called Welga - uses the ring to change history - first to stop Germany losing the war, then to stop the war starting, then to stop Hitler being born - but her changes don't have the consequences she expects.
If anyone can help then I can write back to Rachel and tell her to stop writing to me and start writing to Andy but soften the blow by answering her quesiton.
Cheers,
Martin McGrath

I should add, Rachel believes she read the story in Interzone and thinks it might, or might not, be by Stephen Baxter.
Cheers again!

I was thinking the same thing... Her parents need an award or a free muffin or something.
