Found amongst my Interzone cover gallery, but clearly (?) not an issue of Interzone.

The Third Alternative issue 35 see http://www.bbr-online.com/catalogue/Items/TTA.shtml

Quote:
Black Static is the new title for The Third Alternative, which was founded in 1994. With the arrival of Interzone in 2005 it was no longer necessary to publish science fiction and fantasy in The Third Alternative (not that there was ever very much of it), so we took the opportunity to focus on its darker side and give the magazine a new title to emphasise the slight shift, and give potential readers a clearer idea of what the magazine was all about. So the magazine became Black Static, now fully recognisable as a Horror magazine.

Thank you for the name of the artist Andy.

Just looked him up and he has some very impressive work. Was nice to see the artwork from that cover in a size that meant it didn't give me a headache.

David supplied a few covers for TTA around that time. He's still on the mailing list and I probably should try to talk him into doing some more. I'm a terrible correspondent.
