I don't know about Interzone's reading periods, but if you have a story that you wrote for the Mundane SF issue, Futurismic has just reopened to submissions.
Futurismic specialises in near-future sf; not strictly mundane and not only mundane, but mundane is a big part of what we do. Go read the guidelines, and some of our recent fiction offerings (which, though I say so myself, are bloody excellent stuff).
Disclaimer - I am Futurismic's publisher and editor-in-chief, but I have nothing to do with the fiction selection process.

That should bring me a step closer to this year's target of wallpapering the downstairs loo with rejection slips.

Well, only if you print them out - we're all-electronic at Futurismic, y'know.

Just wondering what constitutes near-future? I have something set around 2080ish I'd like to submit at some point.

No hard and fast rules, Junius - all down to the opinion of hard-workin' Chris East, our fiction editor. Basically, if you read the guidelines and reckon your story fits them, then I'd say give it a go. The plausibility is more of an issue than the dating, if you see what I mean.
But anyway, we're threadjacking, which is very rude - this is an Interzone thread!

So, after one or two scenic detours wallpapering project's moving along nicely.

Ah, good. I've got a couple of projects almost ready. With the semester almost over, I can polish them off and send them to IZ.

Aye, after a big break in my writing-&-submitting, I also have something I'd like to try with the IZ team. Fingers crossed!

And I am just finishing the story I started writing for the first email submission period years ago. It has been like trying to pass a kidney stone the size of Christmas.
