I read nver as river at first. And that resonance is brilliant! There is no riparian consistency indeed with Denise *or* Michael.
Frankie's childish drawing alonsgide his 'lines' was just another sign of the 'school playground' to which I think we would all fall into if incarcerated by the BB House! Frankie *is* as obnoxious as he seems, however.
The Twins remain a phenomenon. The self-misperceived 'humility' and apparent 'high confidence' and arguably great 'entertainment value' and staged modesty all in synergy, with touches of a middle-aged Diana Dors, Alison Steadman from Abigail's Party, Margaret Thatcher and a vulnerably feisty and cutely young Jean Shrimpton from last night's play on BBC4.
We are tending to agree, Marion. For me, Michael first, the Twins second.

9.35 pm oh dear! Our two favourites are out! I think the Twins were genuinely surprised, but cool to the last. Let's hope Frankie doesn't win! Even Denise is preferable to him.

10.07 pm Well, there it is. Possibly the best BB ever. And thinking about it, Denise deserves to win by being the catalyst in more ways than one in creating that situation. But I still don't like the way she acted - yes, acted.
Thanks, Marion, for such wonderful summaries. See you in the Summer.

The Winner's Crown
Not much house action tonight obviously, but there were one or two little snippets. Michael talked to himself in the garden; a surly Frankie gave BB the finger, and at the last night party, lusted hopelessly after the Twins; and a tree fell on Denise.
The Twins came fifth and walked out to a ghastly reaction from the crowd. They never turned a hair and seemed to take it all in good part. The annoying thing was that during their interview, the mob bayed so loudly that everyone had to shout to be heard- Channel 5 should do something about that The twins were an entertainment and should have had a cheer or two.
They put Brian nicely in his place when he hinted they came across as arrogant - they told him that they hoped to inspire self confidence in other girls. Good on 'em - unsinkable to the end!
Michael came fourth and hung on to his cool also. He just laughed and admitted he's not cut out for the BB thing. Au contraire - he was a great HM. The only time his composure cracked was at the mention of Denise's name. He's still haunted by the night she flashed at him. I don't blame him. He prefers not to think about her and wants Brian to get security to keep her away from him. Well, there's bound to be some drinking after the show so that's not a bad idea.
Gareth was next out. He was livelier and more relaxed than we have seen heretofore. For the first time I actually saw why the others rated him so highly. It was a nice interview, somewhat spoiled by the realisation that his exit meant that either Denise or Frankie had won. My only consolation was that Frankie went out next.
What to say about the enfant terrible? He's ghastly. Am I missing something here? The montage of his best bits was a horror film of coarse loutishness, his interview a masterclass in inarticulateness. And he was placed higher than Michael, the Twins and Gareth?
WHY?
It was difficult not to share Denise's pleasure in her win. Once she'd stopped weeping, that is. A scene with Denise must have tears, I suppose. She's charismatic when she's sober and she was at the centre of every drama in the house - but a winner? Well, yes she was. But I'll ever understand why. But good luck to her anyway.
These minor carpings aside, this has been a brilliant series and I have thoroughly enjoyed both it and our thought sharing on these boards.
Au revoir - summer won't be long in coming!

D'you think people are missing watching BB and so read us instead?
BB News - Tommy Sheridan is out of jail and is going to clear his name.

It occurs to me, that if you two were devious and unprincipled, then you could fool those of us who read this thread but don't actually watch the programme, into believing that it was still going on...

The best thing about last night's show, Pete, was when Prince Charles was given a task to change pyjamas with Bonnie Langford.

No, Des - it was when Jodie Marsh showed Charlie how to scramble eggs, with cream, the way he likes 'em.
Although I grant you the jammies were quite amusing.

Marion, I hope you don't mind - but I've pinched your avatar on this board just once here: http://weirdtongue.wordpress.com/288-2/ as it is absolutely perfect to represent Stephen King's 'sighe' creature from his WIND THROUGH THE KEYHOLE. Des
