"Don't look up" says the blurb.

Nice poster art, with all those starships of mass destruction... but it seems like just a replay of Independence Day, but without even that blockbuster's meagre plot.

I wanna see it. It might turn out to just be a rehash of film genre tropes, but it looks cool. My girlfriend isn't so thrilled, but by my reckoning I still have credit from agreeing to take her to Sex and the City 2 earlier this year...

Brave man.
There's only so many references to dresses and close ups on mobile phones I can take. But don't get me started on this apparently feminist girly power sisters are doing it for themselves crap - I think it delivers totally the wrong message as to what's important in life (oh my God, look at all the weight Samantha has put on, how terrible, blah blah blah, my boyfriend cheated on me but it's my fault, etc).
Uh-oh. Revealed too much. Yes, I saw it too.
The idea it may reach Saw proportions in sequels frightens the life out of me. And don't even mention 3D...

I was just staggered at the ridiculous and completely unsubtle xenophobia/racism. I'm genuinely not sure how they got away with that.

"We'll westernise the world by force", wasn't that the tag line?

Silicon based aliens descend from the sky in a fleet of wedding cake shaped craft and decimate America's Bible Belt with weaponry that causes buildings to vibrate until they collapse. Carrie and the gang are appointed UN ambassadors and introduce the aliens to the delights of Prada and exclusive eateries in the Hamptons. The aliens, who were really just misunderstood and unloved, find happiness and fulfilment in symbiotic bonding as breast augmentations for cleavage challenged white bread women from the Upper East Side.
Oh yeah, and Mr Big still won't commit.
I've given this too much thought, haven't I?

Yes.
"Carrie and the gang are appointed UN ambassadors and introduce the aliens to the delights of Prada and exclusive eateries"
That's really all there is to the plot of 'Carrie Meets V(isitors)'.

It was a pretty decent film from an effects standpoint but the characters were on the whole pretty unlikeable so you really didn't care when something happened to them. The ending was a bit borderline too
