J.C. Hartley reviews Abrams' film on The ZONE site...
http://www.zone-sf.com/screenscene/newtrek1.html

Anyone else seen this franchise re-start, yet?

Saw it during the week, and loved it. A great adventure, plenty of humour and action, and a real treat for people who were fans of the series before most of that new cast were even born.

It's a couple of hours worth of great space opera fun.
Go and see it!

In case more temptation is needed, I've heard nothing but good things about this. Had a good ol' chat with my taxi driver about it in fact (such a nice change from the weather) having spied a couple of Star Trek books tucked in the door storage of his cab. Beware, though - my girlfriend saw it recently, loved it, and has now bought a book about space which means approxiamtely every three minutes I get a "Did you know..." comment.

I'd say wait until it comes out on DVD, unless you have a gaggle of friends and decide to make an evening. The characters are fantastic, and you don't need a cinema screen to enjoy them.

Not exactly 'New Star Trek' but we should recycle old topics, maybe?

William Shatner earns $600m from Priceline adverts according to the Daily Telegraph.
