I read it when it came out, and enjoyed it very much - I don't know about Watchmen or The Matrix, though, unless they've changed it a lot! It was more like The Thing without an alien, or Miss Smilla's Feeling For Snow.

The spin-off book, Queen & Country, was a great read too.

Yeah, I thought of "The Thing", and also of "Insomnia" crossed with "Rambo" :lol:
