Okay, just started "On the Loose", the latest Bryant & May mystery from Christopher Fowler. I'm one hundred pages in and purring with contentment :D

Finished "On the Loose" and still contentedly purring. Imagine "The X-Files", only with Holmes and Watson in place of Mulder and Scully, and written by P G Wodehouse.

Just started "The Forest of Hands & Teeth" by Carrie Ryan.

Finished "The Forests of Hands and Teeth", which was rather good. Also finished "The Kill Crew" by Joseph D'Lacey, which was zombie apocalypse by any other name, and action packed.

Now about to start "Frenzy" by TTA contributor Carole Johnstone.

More comics:

New Frontier Vol 2. Darwyn Cooke wraps up his tale of vintage superheroes in style.

Spyboy by Peter David. OTT action hijinks with an awkward teenager who doesn't realise that posthypnotic commands transform him into a cool superspy -- but only for short periods. Lightweight fluff for kids with occasional spurts of ultraviolence sitting awkwardly alongside the strained wisecracks. Disappointng.

Finished Nekropolis by Tim Waggoner, a really great inventive story but I kept being drawn out of the story by the vast number of errors that must have passed the editor by!!

Oh dear. I have an uncorrected proof of that, so guess there'll be even more errors, but unfortunately I won't be able to mention them in the review, as I have to assume they get caught by the proofreader.

Just finished another novella - "Darkness, Darkness: Forever Twilight Book 1" by Peter Crowther.

Just finished the rather wonderful, but bleak, 'The Language of Dying' by Sarah Pinborough.

Partway through Tim Lebbon's 'The Reach of Children', and loving it so far.

Also just started 'Hiding the Elephant: How Magicians Invented the Impossible' by Jim Steinmeyer, which is a non-fiction account of the history of stage magic.
