INTERACTION

The Clarke Award has been won by Lauren Beukes' Zoo City - a nice coup for Angry Robot Books, and South African SF.

I haven't read this one, but do have it on the TBR pile. I read her first novel, Moxyland, a while back, and found it interesting if not entirely successful. Look forward to checking out Zoo City in due course.

Ironically it's the only one of the finalists I have read! A slight step up from Moxyland I felt, with a very evocative background setting and characters, though I was slightly less enamoured with the actual plot. Still, a good novel from an up and coming writer, though I was slightly suprised to see it win the award. Now I really need to check out the others!
