Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to pass on the latest Alt.Fiction news - we'll be having a number of events at the Lincoln Book Festival, with the World of Comics event on the 11th May and an evening with bestselling fantasy author Trudi Canavan on 12th May. Both should be great events, so hopefully will see some of you there!

You can get more info at www.lincolnbookfestival.org or email me at bfsalex@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks a lot!

Alex

The World of Comics

Comics and graphic novels have enjoyed an explosion of popularity lately, but what is the key to their success? Join us for this panel discussion with Terry Martin, award-winning publisher of Murky Depths, and acclaimed artist Neil Roberts to explore this ever-expanding area of reading and writing. A great opportunity to find out more how comics and graphic novels come to life, and what the future holds for this growing art form.

This event is brought to you by Alt.Fiction, a trading name of Writing East Midlands. Visit www.altfiction.co.uk for more information.

Trudi Canavan
May 12th, 7pm
The Courtroom, Lincoln College
Tickets £7/£5 concessions, book from www.lincolnbookfestival.org

Trudi Canavan is one of fantasy fiction's breakthrough stars and already a multiple time bestseller and award winner. Her work was already well known in her native Australia before reaching the international market in 2004 with The Black Magician Trilogy. The series was an instant hit, becoming the most successful debut fantasy trilogy in a decade. Her second trilogy, Age of the Five, was a regular on bestseller lists, with Priestess of the White entering the Sunday Times hardback fiction list at number three, and spending six weeks in the top 10. She is currently working on The Traitor Spy Trilogy, which has already won an Aurealis Award and again made the Sunday Times bestseller list.

To celebrate the release of The Rogue, book two in The Traitor Spy Trilogy, Trudi will be giving a reading and taking your questions on books and writing, as well as signing your titles at the end of the evening. A rare chance to see one of fantasy's newest talents in the UK.

This event is brought to you by Orbit and Alt.Fiction, a trading name of Writing East Midlands. Visit www.altfiction.co.uk for more information.
