Jetse--who can say "no" to a free drink? :)

Haven't booked yet, but I've found a fairly reasonable rate at the Renaissance--though nothing can beat the Ibis, I agree (my only worry is returning to it pretty late at night...)

Mind you, the Renaissance looks about as far from the con hotel as the Ibis...That hotel is starting to look pretty attractive from where I'm sitting...

(the con organisers told me they do have a few rooms left in the Radisson, but they're shared doubles, and I don't have anyone to share it with)

If you stay in the con hotel till 3 am every night you can always walk back with Jetse. There will be no problem finding him at 3 am.

I think one night at Contemplation '07 Ian Hocking and I were the last people standing in the bar, which was epic. Unfortunately I spent almost the entire following day hoping death would take me in its arms, so I'm not too proud...

Now the fabled words 'never throw up on an editor' make perfect sense.

Booked my 3 nights at the Ibis. Thanks, Jetse & Roy! It's a lot cheaper than I thought it would be, and I still get breakfast :D

Now all I have to do is make my way around Heathrow. Not holding my breath on this one...

See you there!

(oh, and I react very badly to alcohol, so I dearly hope the bar serves fruit juices...Eastercon isn't about getting drunk, is it? ;) )

Grr. Big training session scheduled on Friday 21st, at the other end of France...
At least I'll get to Heathrow on Saturday.

Ah well, booked the Ibis: Friday to Sunday. Had to do it over the 'phone - no bloody Maestro facility online (and I don't have a credit card).

It doesn't look too far from the Con hotel... 3am or not. :?

Sadly, no.
We get a bunch of religious holidays, but not this one.

I'm arriving in Gatwick late Friday night.
This is going to be one heck of a fun trip...
