Hi All,

Just thought that I’d let you all know that my story Wings of Night will be up at the HUB ezine site Saturday 18th May. Subscription to the weekly magazine is free, as the site is sponsored by Orbit Publishing. They pay the authors though. If you opt in now my story will slip silently into your email boxes on Saturday. :)

HUB contains reviews; a new series on past Doctor Who’s and a new Felix Castor story by Mike Carey will be up in August.

As part of my 'stories are religion' campaign I've put up TTA issue one for sale in accordance with the link here:
http://cwgpress.com/joomla080806/index. ... iew&id=119

Fans of TTA will find this a major keepsake. I'd like someone else to enjoy this seminal example of the UK Small Press Golden Age for the next 15 years as I have just done for the last 15 years.

My first Greek book has just been published by Polis Editions!

Image

NEA ΠAΓKOΣMIA IΣTOPIA THΣ ATIMIAΣ is a customised version of my *New Universal History*... It includes several stories not yet published in English and a story especially written for a Greek readership (a sequel to Borges' famous 'Pierre Menard, author of the Quixote' set in Athens).

The translator is the renowned scholar KYPIAKIΔHΣ AXIΛΛEAΣ (Achilleas Kyriakidis), who is also the translator of Borges, Calvino, Queneau and Perec.

Congratulations, Rhys.
(Has it still got 'Alone With a Long-Winded Soul' in it?)

First in a new quarterly feature at Whispers (www.ookami.co.uk), "The Angry Column" has just been posted and for his debut Adrian Fry takes the internet to task. Go here:-

Hi All,

The exact launch date has been unclear for far too long, but Swimming Kangaroo Books have officially confirmed the publication date for my fantasy novel The Silk Palace as September 23rd, exactly four months from now.

By an amazing coincideence, the same weekend as FantasyCon.... :D

There's a preview copy of the opening chapter at www.geocities.com/colin_harvey/TSP/tsp01.html

Cheers

Colin

Hi Des.

Believe it or not, I'm not sure if the Greek version of *Infamy* contains 'Alone with a Longwinded Soul'. I have a feeling it doesn't. The changes are quite radical and the book is almost entirely different from the American original...

However the Spanish version of *Infamy* (due out next month) is a non-customised edition and definitely does contain that story.

And in fact the Spanish edition is due out in the next couple of weeks:

Some details can be found here:
http://tienda.cyberdark.net/nueva-historia-universal-de-la-infamia-n11544.html

This book is being published by Bibliopolis under a new imprint, Malabres, that is dedicated to publishing books that don't easily fit into any genre. Walter Mosley, Philip K Dick and myself are the first three Malabres writers. (Flicks imaginary dust off an imaginary collar...)

I've read the preview chapter Colin. I was intrigued.
Is is a standalone or part of a trilogy/series? It felt like quite a complex set up.

Hello all!

I'm thrilled to reveal that my short Enjoy the Silence will be re-printed by the Willows magazine later in the year (actual date TBC). I be very happy!

Just heard from editor Douglas A. Waltz that my short story, ON THE NIGHT BUS, has been accepted for publication in ON THE NIGHT HIGHWAYS. This marks my second sale outside the UK and I'm just thrilled.

:D

Roy,

Thanks.

It's a stand alone. Although I might set other stories in the same world, I won't use the same characters -- a bit like the relationship between say, Pratchett's Small Gods and Pyramids.
