Happy New Year, All!

I'm please to announce an original anthology, published by Swimming Kangaroo Books (Yes, irony of ironies a US publisher issuing a British anthology :D ) for Easter 2009.

The ToC includes several IZ contributors:

Isambard's Kingdom by Liz Williams
The Guerilla Infrastructure HOWTO by John Hawkes-Reed
After The Change by Stephanie Burgis
A Tale of Two Cities by Christina Lake
Trespassers by Nick Walters
Pirates of the Cumberland Basin by Joanne Hall
Thermoclines by Colin Harvey
What Would Nicolas Cage Have Done? By Gareth L Powell
The Sun In The Bone House by Jim Mortimore

Williams and Powell will need no intro to readers of the current incarnation of Interzone, but Chris Lake contributed several stories to Pringlezone between 1987 and 2003.

And if I can work out how to upload a decent copy, it has a spiffy cover...

Colin

The cover's defeated me, so here's the link to Andy Bigwood's site.

Andy won the BSFA award two years ago for his fine cover for DisLocations, and as he lives near Bristol was an automatic choice.

Andy Bigwood sent me this link to the cover art for Colin's anthology (Future Bristol) as he had trouble registering from his AOL account.

The Eastercon launch party has been confirmed for Easter Sunday at 2pm.

I'm just working out the numbers for drinks, so if you're on Facebook or MySpace drop me a line - if you haven't already- or pm me, if you're attending. Wouldn't want to run out of wine....

And we'll be having a raffle. One of the prizes will be an IZ subscription (or BS if that's better for the winner).

Just realized that I haven't posted an update on the launch at Eastercon.

Gareth L Powell, Stephanie Burgis, Christina Lake and I all read from our stories to a fairly full house. Gareth even got a disappointed groan when he ended his reading with a cliff-hanger!

The raffle winners were
3rd place (tie) Sharon Reamer & Doctor Bob won copies of Gareth's The Last Reef & Killers respectively.

2nd place and the IZ subscription went to Nik Whitehead

1st place and a mounted print of the cover was won by Aliette de Bodard.
