There's an idea. It's great for annoying the people sitting behind me.

...and hey. So, here I am: Cat. A nickname which stems from childhood and the story "The Cat Who Walked By Himself", which is pretty much the attitude I have. I'm laidback and lowkey. I'm currently 41, but still 5'10". In addition to the day job, I lift weights, do kungfu, date, cook - and if you ate 5 times a day, you'd probably cook too - and love to get some travelling done. The picture above was when I was in Singapore last April (where I hit my quota of three countries a year to visit). Back to the matter. Among other things, I help moderate the discussion forum for author Kelley Armstrong. This was where I first heard about NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and beat the challenge on my first attempt. So now, with 3 short stories, 2 novels and 1 novella under my belt, I'm here to step up the next level of the game.

I used to be a NaNoWriMo ML, and finished something like four novels in four years to set a good example. Haven't finished so much as a short story in the years since I stepped down. Welcome to the forum..!

Hi all,
I'm Michael, and I'm a longtime reader of Interzone, and decided I should finally get involved on the forums. I'm a videogame designer by day (though at the moment I'm nearing the end of six months' Additional Paternity Leave, which has been amazing but challenging) and a very occasional writer by night. Not had anything published yet, but I'm hoping to change that this year. Or at least chalk up a fair few rejections while trying!

Hi Michael, welcome, congratulations and good luck with the writing. Might not be so easy with the new member of the family at present. Also congrats to your partner and welcome to that potential new Interzone reader.

Hello everybody, I'm Andrew. Just started reading Black Static and Interzone. I'm also starting up a blog where I put up all my scholarly ramblings as well as some short stories and poetry. Some of it has been previously published in student magazines/e-zines.
