OMG! I totally saw that pattern, and the motion and everything ... it was late summer 1998, about 6 am in an abandoned Devon farm building, about four hours after I had played the best DJ set of my career. And I though I'd just overdone it on the sweeties ... I knew I should have scribbled it down. :(

Amazing film, Roy. Thanks for posting it.

Yes, it's impressive to say the least. Now you should check thisout on pages 16, 19 & 20.

And the title is so understated.

Before we all go dewy-eyed, remember that this is from New Scientist, which is not peer reviewed, and calls itself:
Quote:
"an ideas magazine - that means writing about hypotheses as well as theories"

Check out the "EmDrive article controversy" a bit further down in the New Scientist Wikipedia entry.
To resume: New Scientist published a lead article about an electromagnetic drive (calling it even 'anti-gravity', IIRC) that violated the conservation of momentum.

Greg Egan was not amused.

Now I'm not saying Lisi's theory is wrong -- it goes way over my head -- but personally I'll start paying attention if the extra particles it predicts are found in CERN's new Large Hadron Collider. And not a second before.

Furthermore, it's just a Theory of Everything. It lacks a bit in audacity, in comparison with this Theory of More than Everything...

Very funny Jetse.

I can't say anything sensible about Lisi's theory but the images are awesome.
