Its good to be a part of the forum. Brandon here, living in Boulder, Co. Speculative fiction writer, just sold my fourth story in four weeks. It's been a good month. Long years of rejections are paying off perhaps. Anyway, I look forward to the interaction.
Thanks

Welcome Brandon, 4 in 4 weeks!
So tell us a little more at least, where will they appear and when?

Is IZ on sale in Boulder?

No. I got IZ and Black Gate, before it was Black Static, at Shocklines, unless Borders may sell it, but I don't think they do. I work at Barnes and Noble, so I know its not there, either.

Angel, one of my stories from the website, is going to be at www.writershelm.com in October Barriers, from my website, is at Static Movement at the moment. I just got accepted by 7th Dimension for a flash piece called, Last Dresser Drawer (very demented and bloody) also in October, and one I'm really proud of (The Ghost of Korrim McKarthy) is going to be featured in an upcoming anthology, Twisted Tales 3. This one may not come out until spring of 2008 I'm thinking. Their theme is Pure Fear, so as a writer of the darker trade, I'm proud of that. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for the future, and expecting things to calm down here for a while. It's been busy.

I've always enjoyed horror, but I still like to read the occasional sci fi and fantasy. There's some great stories out there in all genres, and I try as much as I can to stay on top. There's a few others at TTA I'm interested in. I have to be careful with mags, though. I love buying them, and there are so many. I have to eat still.

Brandon

You have been busy. Well done.
I'll look it up in October but remind me here when its online.

Some US Borders do have IZ but at ~$12 each. Black Static is unlikely to appear anywhere but specialist dealers. You'll just have to subscribe. Well worth it.

So how do we get Barnes and N to stock IZ?
If any forum readers are are that area and likely to buy IZ at B&N Boulder let us know..

That is a really good question. Mags aren't available to order because it costs more to ship than the actual magazine. It was one of the first things I looked into when I started working there, and my first huge disappointment. For example, we're supposed to be carrying City Slab and Dark Discoveries, but we don't. We don't carry the Mag of Fantasy and Sci Fi, either. For Boulder, which I always thought was very diverse and caters to a wide audience, our magazine section (at least the literary) is very disappointing. I wonder if you could put in a request to Barnes and Noble from TTA to carry it. I could look into it for you and see what they say. After all, mags are coming in, and some are different all the time. So, there must be a way.

Subscription? Ah, yes. That is more like it. It's funner to get them in the mail anyway. Like a surprise in the box, yes?

If there is an e mail address to write to I'll try but it has to be a named person, e mails are ignored otherwise.

They are ignored by named recipients as well but, at least, they do open them, I think.
