I have a horrible feeling the answer's "no", and I think I'll backburner it, but is writing to a specific mythos for submissions frowned upon? Is it a huge faux-pas? I have a lovecraftian piece, which at no point will reference Canon terms specifically, but will obviously be referencing sideways some lovecraft mythos.

I think there are a couple of Black Static stories that sort of 'fit the bill'. Less a Dream than this we Knowfrom BS #5 was one but there are a few places that like Lovecraft mythos stories.

Submit and be damned (or not) is the only answer I can give. It can't blight your potential career as a writer if it is rejected.
