Seeing reports (on FB) that he's just died.

Ach, no, one of my favourite writers.

So sad. I loved everything of his that I read, but especially "The Golden" and the stories in "The Jaguar Hunter" collection.

Very sad news. I especially adored the novel-length version of Viator. Glad I once got up the nerve to tell him how much I enjoyed Vermillion, his short-lived, underrated comic for DC.

I didn't know him at all outside of his writing, but am grateful for the opportunity of publishing a tiny bit of his fiction. We had a very brief email conversation recently. I think he found typing difficult but he seemed to be doing very well all things considered. I was supposed to ring him and feel very bad now that I didn't.

A marvellous writer - this is a sad loss.
